You’ll collaborate with passionate people, help hundreds of coders and creators have an unforgettable experience, and make a lasting impact on the community that makes southern Utah such a special place for innovation.
If this is something you are interested in let us know through our contact form.
Judging and Event Volunteers
We’re reaching out for some awesome volunteers to help us judge projects at the Southern Utah Code Camp. The Southern Utah Code Camp is an exciting annual 24-hour coding, design, and innovation challenge. You don’t need to be a software developer; just bring your curiosity, insightful questions, and a desire to inspire creativity in others!
This year, we have two judging sessions lined up:
Friday, 3–5 PM: Join us for Day Camp judging, where we’ll enjoy quick and fun presentations from young coders showcasing their Scratch projects.
Saturday, 8–10 AM: Don’t miss the Main judging round, featuring projects from teams that have persevered through the full 24 hours. Get ready to be impressed by web apps, games, and innovative builds!
As a judge, you’ll work in small teams, usually consisting of three people. Each team will visit the project tables, giving presenters three minutes to share their work, followed by two minutes for questions. One member will keep time while the others can engage and score using a rubric we provide. If we happen to have a shortage of judges, some teams might combine roles to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Before each session, we’ll hold a quick 15-minute orientation for judges so everyone knows what to expect and feels prepared.
Judging is not just an important task; it’s a fun and fast-paced way to connect with the local tech community. You’ll witness firsthand the creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills that make Code Camp such a unique and inspiring event. We hope to see you there!
